As you probably know if you’re reading this post, many people have to deal with hooded eyes or droopy eyelids, either because they were born with a certain type of eye configuration, or because eyelid droop has developed over time with aging. We are going to examine both eye issues, provide some tips on how to address these issues with makeup, and show how Eye Magic can also assist with shaping and redefining eyes with the “hood” or drooping skin.

Many celebrities such as Blake Lively have hooded eyes.

Hooded Eyes

Many people are born with “hooded eyes”. This term can be loosely defined as eyes that are set in such a way that the skin above the eye protrudes over the natural crease of the eyelid. The crease of the eyelid is the line on the lid that forms the back curve of the eyelid when the eye is open. Many celebrities including Paris Hilton, Blake Lively, Leelee Sobieski, and Malin Akerman all have what can be considered hooded eyes.

So what can be done to address hooded eyes? Makeup tricks can be used to help create an alluring shape and a defined eyelid. To enhance hooded eyes with makeup, try applying a light eye shadow in the inner corner of the eye and on the brow bone. Then, apply a medium or dark shadow on the crease and hooded area. Line the upper lid to open the eye, and apply black mascara to the upper lashes.

If the tips above do not give you a dramatic enough effect, you can try combining them with Eye Magic eye lift strips. These strips are designed to add support to the crease of the eyelid, creating a more defined, visible lid.

Droopy Eyelids

The difference between hooded eyes and droopy eyelids is that unlike hooded eyes which people are born with, eyelid droop usually occurs over time and is associated with loss of elasticity in the skin above the eye. Eyelid droop is very common among men and women, who, as they age, begin to lose firmness in their skin. Once the skin above the eye loses elasticity, the loose skin above the crease slides down, obscuring the lid below and creating droopy lids. Droopy lids are dealt with slightly differently than hooded eyelids.

Hooded eyes before and after using Eye Magic

Several makeup tips are available for dealing with droopy eyelids. First, use light or gold shadows to help make the eye area more visible. Apply a base shadow and contour the back curve of the lid with a darker color. Lightly apply eyeliner (preferably not deep black; use darker gray or brown, deep purple or green) and use mascara to detract attention from your drooping eyelids.

If the drooping can’t be improved with makeup alone, Eye Magic can provide dramatic and effective help with this issue. Eye Magic was designed to add support to the crease of the eyelid, preventing the loose, droopy skin from sliding forward over the eyelids. Eye Magic works without any makeup or in conjunction with makeup, to help shape, redefine, and beautify the eyes. Use the tips above and experiment with the Eye Magic strips to find the right combination. When applied properly and combined with makeup, you can take years off your look and unveil your beautiful eyes once again.

For more tips on applying Eye Magic with makeup, please visit the Application Tips section of our blog.

To purchase Eye Magic, visit our products page.

We hope the tips above help you when trying to find solutions to the issues of hooded eyes and droopy eyelids. Good luck!

One of the most common side effects of botox is eyelid drooping, and many people are desperate to quickly fix this issue. Some of our customers have reported that one or both eyes experienced a significant droop after being injected in the forehead with botox.

Although Eye Magic is not specifically designed to help with drooping eyelids that result from botox, our customers have reported that our eye strips have greatly helped with this issue.

Eye Magic Eye Lift Strips add support to drooping upper eyelid skin by invisibly holding the skin in its natural position, providing brighter, more defined eyes, and instantly taking years off the face.

Here are two testimonials from Eye Magic users that have experienced eyelid drooping after botox injections:

Had a little botox in my forehead that made my eyes droopy. They couldn’t fix it with more botox but I’ve had great results with Eye Magic. I feel beautiful instead of embarrassed by my drooping eyelids. Thank you so much.

I recently have had some issues with one eye as a result of botox in the forehead…it was horrible. That eyelid already had excessive skin, due to a car accident. I searched the web for days trying to find help. I saw your product and after I read the testimonials, I thought I’d try them. I got the combo pack, not sure which shape would be best. Oh my GOSH! I couldn’t believe how they work! One thing I didn’t realize is how invisible they become! I was also worried about using them when I play golf (because of the humidity) but today they didn’t budge and the adhesive held tight!! I can’t begin to tell you how incredible this product is. Those are 2 very important points that should be very clear in your description. I may have surgery some day, but in the meantime, you have changed my attitude and a big part of my life!

It appears that a “new” product has been introduced into the market, which is eerily similar to our own. Unfortunately, the people behind this product weren’t creative enough to come up with their own packaging, slogan, or wording, and are even using multiple before and after photos stolen directly from our website, including photos of our co-founder.

We’re here to set the record straight. Eye Magic is the original instant eyelid lift and has been sold worldwide since 2000. Our product is innovative and our before and after photos are real, taken of real people, by our staff. Eye Magic has a proven track record of product safety and a large repeat customer base dating back over 10 years. Look no further than our Testimonials page to see what customers have said about our product.

While this “new” product is being sold for an outrageous £30 (equivalent to over $47 US), we prefer to keep our product affordable at $19.99 (less than £13).

The people behind this product have shown no regard for originality, honesty, or fair business. Their unscrupulous behavior makes us beg the question, is their product safe? Don’t be fooled by imitations and rip offs.

Eye Magic, the original instant eyelid lift, is available online at http://www.eyemagic.net for $19.99 and ships to most countries worldwide.

Eye Magic is an eyelid cosmetic designed to address eyelid drooping without eye lift surgery. It is a simple and effective eyelid lift for eyelids that have sagged with age or are obscured by heavy skin, as in the case of hooded eyelids. There is often so much drooping eyelid skin or heavy skin along the curve, a longer strip is necessary to support the entire surface area where the skin droops. In many cases, however, only a part of the eyelid needs a lift, so the entire strip is not needed.

Sandra from Australia writes:

“I find, after experimenting like crazy, that I only need half the strips for the outer edge of my eyes as I don’t have the whole lid sagging, just the outer edges, so I cut them almost in half with an angle. And even today, I popped on the strips for round eyes (cut almost in half) just to use them up and they work great (I bought a combination pack).

My son is a child actor and in April, before I discovered your product, I went along to his usual yearly photo shoot to update the portfolio and they dragged me in for a shot with him and my daughter. I only saw the photo yesterday, and, oh my god I wish I’d had the strips on back then! The outer edges of my eyes are shocking and drooping so much, I look so old. Today I’m confidently wearing the strips–but there’s no camera in sight.”

Next time you’ll look great Sandra! As she found out by using her natural creativity, the Eye Magic strips can be utilized in different ways. They can be cut to any size, either on or off the backing, to accommodate just about any area of eyelid drooping. For example, if your eyelids are sagging only in the center, cut a smaller piece off the top of the curve of the strip and apply it only under the specific area that needs support. And, for example, as Sandra found, if your eyelids are sagging only on the outer edges, cut the strips in half, snip the ends at an angle and apply the shorter pieces only to the outer area of your lids. As you experiment, you’ll find what works best for you. Cutting the ends of the strips at an angle will allow them to blend into the natural lines of the eyelid skin. Don’t forget to use the gel! So experiment, get creative and lift those lids! You’ll look and feel younger instantly!

Looking older isn’t the only problem associated with drooping eyelid skin. While eyelid drooping certainly indicates advancing age, heavy eyelid skin can also cause eyestrain, interfere with makeup application, cause discomfort while wearing contact lenses, and in severe cases, impair vision.

Many people with drooping upper eyelid skin lift their eyebrows frequently in an attempt to pull the sagging skin off the top of the eyeballs. This is often done unconsciously when the excess skin that sits on top of the eyeball causes a feeling of discomfort. The weight of the droopy eyelid skin can also tire the muscles of the eye, causing eyestrain or fatigue. Constantly lifting the eyebrows contributes to forehead wrinkling and may stretch the eyelid skin out even more.

Difficulty applying makeup is another problem associated with drooping upper eyelid skin. Since the eyelids are only slightly visible under the excess skin or not at all, eyeliner applied along the lash line tends to transfer onto the overhanging skin, as does mascara. Eye shadow is not easy to see unless it is applied up and over the hanging skin which only accentuates the problem.

In some cases, droopy eyelids can create pressure on the rims of contact lenses. Facial expressions that change the position of the excess skin around the eyes can push the lens off its natural resting place, causing the need for additional blinking to restore the position of the lens. This can be quite annoying, and, depending on the level of interference, can cause irritation to the cornea of the eye.

One solution for these problems is upper eye lift surgery (blepharoplasty). Many people, however, are not good candidates for this procedure. There are medical conditions such as heart or lung disease, chronic renal disease, diabetes, thyroid disease, a history of facial palsy, bleeding disorders and dry eye syndrome that rule out surgery as an option. Other reasons people do not opt for upper eyelid surgery include lack of insurance or financial resources to cover the high cost of the procedure and the potential for unforeseen complications. So if you can’t (or don’t want to) have the eyelid lift procedure performed for any of these reasons, what can you do?

You can try Eye Magic! Eye Magic is an effective, non-surgical alternative to blepharoplasty. Eye Magic consists of small, translucent, hypoallergenic strips designed to provide temporary support for sagging eyelid skin. When the strips are placed over the fold line on the eyelid, the skin stays in its natural position, keeping loose skin from sagging forward over the eyelids. It’s just that simple. The application is easy after a little practice and is well worth the effort.

Eye Magic being applied to the crease of the eye

Eye Magic can make a big difference in the way you look and feel. The product is designed to brighten tired or heavy eyes by adding support to drooping upper eyelid skin, without the high cost, recovery time, and potential complications of eyelid surgery. Once you’ve mastered the application process, you’ll find the improvement in the way you look is truly amazing. Here are six tips to help you successfully apply Eye Magic:

1. Read the instructions!
This may seem obvious, but reading the instructions included with your package is very important. There is a unique process for applying Eye Magic, and you have to follow each step in order, or you may have difficulty positioning the strips properly. Always follow these three basic steps: (1) Remove the strip from the backing (2) Apply a small amount of gel to the sticky side of the strip, and (3) Position the strip on the fold line of the eyelid and adjust as necessary.

2. Take your time and be patient
Relax and take your time! Remember, you are learning a new skill. Be patient with the application, and realize that you may not get it on the first try. You may have to remove the strip from your eyelid and reposition it a number of times until you get the hang of it. With a little effort you can make it work, so keep at it until you do. Don’t give up after trying only one set of strips!

3. Each eye is different
Remember that each eye is a little different. Positioning the Eye Magic strips may not be the same for both eyes and may change slightly between applications. After a while, you’ll get a feel for the application and will be able to easily correct the droop of your lids by adding support where it’s needed.

4. Always use the gel
Eye Magic strips are far too sticky to apply without the gel. Always apply a thin layer across the sticky side, just enough to cover it. The gel allows for repositioning and easy removal without sacrificing the strong adhesion needed for all day wear. After hours of wear, you’ll find the strips will loosen a bit, which allows for easy removal. If you need to remove the strips while they are still tightly bonded to the skin, you can use mineral oil or any make up remover containing mineral oil for quick removal.

5. Be creative with the strips
The Eye Magic strips come in two sizes that will work for most eyelids. However, eye shapes and sizes vary so much that for some people, a little creativity may be necessary. Here are some possible solutions:

If you find the strips are too long, trim the ends off after peeling them from the backing.

To further decrease visibility, clip the ends off at an angle (longest point on the top).

If you need less coverage, trim the strips to make them a bit thinner while they are still on the backing. This may take some practice.

If you need more support for the skin above the eyelid, you can layer or overlap the Eye Magic strips.

If you have a lot of excess skin, you can trim a third strip and add it where it’s needed. Layering doesn’t necessarily increase the visibility of the strips, so give it a try if you feel you need the extra support. Always use the gel, regardless.

6. Adjust your technique if the strips buckle
Some new users have found that the Eye Magic strips “buckle” in the middle. Buckling can be caused by two things: using too much gel, or the Eye Magic strip is too long to properly fit the eye. Make sure you are using only a small amount of gel, just enough to coat the adhesive side of the strip with a thin layer. If you find that the strips are still buckling, snip off the ends of each strip before applying. Eye Magic is versatile and snipping the ends won’t reduce the effectiveness of the strip. Be creative and use the techniques mentioned in Tip #5.

The term “hooded”, when used to describe eyelids, is confusing to some people. In looking for only one definitive meaning, it’s clear that hooded generally means eyelids that are partly covered by skin when the eyes are open. Using that description, it’s likely that everyone’s eyes will eventually become hooded as a result of sagging skin due to aging. Plastic surgeons who perform blepharoplasty (upper and lower eyelid surgery), sometimes use the word to describe natural sagging or drooping due to aging, probably because it is a commonly used term to describe the condition. Used most accurately, the term “hooded” describes eye configurations where bone structure is the reason that the eyelids are not completely visible when the eyes are open.

Hooded eyelids before and after using Eye Magic

Hooded, as it relates to bone structure, describes a brow area above the lids that juts out a bit, causing the skin that covers the area just below the eyebrows to obscure part of the eyelids along the curve of the lid. In younger people, the skin that covers a portion of the eyelid is not actually sagging, even though it may have the appearance of heaviness. This type of eye structure is also called “bedroom eyes”, as it appears seductive to some people. Some well known celebrities such as Paris Hilton and Renee Zellweger have hooded eyelids. For those looking to open up the eyelid area, Eye Magic can create the look of a full eyelid by lifting and supporting the skin that’s covering the eyelid underneath.

The word hooded is also used to describe large eyelids that have no distinct shape or definition. This type of lid does not have the crease that creates an eyelid in deeper set eyes. Hooded eyelids are common among those of Asian descent, and unlike the previous description of a more pronounced brow, it’s an eye configuration that results from a flatter, smoother bone structure. To create an eyelid for this configuration generally requires a small, stiff strip, commonly referred to as “double eyelid tape”. Double eyelid tape is specifically designed for Asian eyes, or any eyelid without a crease. The Eye Magic support strips are a bit larger, softer and more pliable than double eyelid tape and are specifically designed for eyes that have an existing crease and deeper eye socket. While the more comfortable Eye Magic strips may create an eyelid for some where a crease does not exist, for others without a crease it may not be stiff enough to create a visible lid.

Upper eyelid surgery, or blepharoplasty, is the 3rd most common invasive surgical procedure performed today. As people age, their skin begins to sag, which often includes droopiness above the eyelid, covering up what many people consider to be their most important asset. This is extremely common so there’s no surprise that eyelid surgery is in high demand.

People are cautious about going under the knife for this procedure, and for good reason. Various concerns naturally arise when contemplating upper eye lid surgery. Some people are nervous about having the skin around their eyes cut into or experiencing possible complications that may arise resulting in a permanent problem. Others are concerned about the telltale hollow look may result if too much skin is removed during the surgery. Some worry that their eyes won’t be able to fully close or that there will be nerve damage.

No reputable plastic surgeon will tell you that these types of things never happen. Sometimes they do. For many of us, “sometimes” is enough of a question to consider another option for correcting the sagging eyelid skin that is a result of aging. If you’re not sure whether you’re ready to change your eyes permanently with eyelid plastic surgery, can’t afford the high cost of the surgery, have a physical condition that excludes you as a candidate, or worry about potential complications, then there is another option. It’s called Eye Magic. Eye Magic essentially accomplishes the same goal as surgery: lifting your eye lids.

With Eye Magic the results are instant. There’s no downtime, no complications, no big dollars – just results that can rival those of upper eyelid surgery. Here’s how it works: As we age, our skin loses elasticity. The underlying structure of the skin breaks down, and without the necessary support, eyelid skin begins to droop toward the lashes. The Eye Magic concept is simple; invisible strips replace the structure of the skin externally by adding support at the fold line on the eyelid. That’s where the eyelid skin sags forward, giving your eyes that older, tired look. The small, thin strips keep the skin from sliding forward and restore the natural curve of your eyelids. Poof! Ten years gone from your face. Try it and see for yourself!

With many people losing long-held jobs in today’s economy, finding a new job is getting more and more difficult. It’s especially hard if you are older and looking worn out, even when you feel energetic and lively. Nothing spells “tired” like the eyes, and sagging eyelids create a weary, unalert look that can create the wrong impression.

First impressions are critical to your success in getting that new job, and the last thing you want an interviewer to think is that you’ll be falling asleep while you’re working. Solving the problem with cosmetic eyelid surgery is often unaffordable when a job has been lost, but there is an affordable solution to this problem.

Eye Magic is the non-surgical eyelid lift that can restore your eyelids to a natural curve and remove years from the look of your face. The thin translucent Eye Magic strips support your drooping eyelid skin, keeping it from sagging down over your eyelids. The results are a visible eyelid and younger, brighter looking eyes. In many cases, Eye Magic also helps improve vision.

With so many jobs seekers competing for the limited employment that is available, why not give yourself an edge? Try Eye Magic and see ten years disappear from your face instantly. Get back your sparkle and make sure you look as energetic as you feel!

Visit www.eyemagic.net for more information on Eye Magic products.
